Removing Wrinkles From a Vinyl Tablecloth

Vinyl tablecloths are cheap and convenient, but they are notorious for their wrinkles. When you first remove a vinyl tablecloth from its bag, it is invariably creased with deep folds that don't come out. Vinyl tablecloths can be ironed out, but they are easy to melt, and not very durable. Use low heat and keep the iron constantly moving to avoid melting the tablecloth. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Consider buying vinyl off of a roll in the fabric store. Brand new vinyl tablecloths come tightly folded, which is what causes the wrinkles. If you buy one off of a roll, it won't be wrinkled to begin with.

    2

Put the tablecloth down on a table that will not be harmed by heat. If you aren't sure, use an ironing board.

    3

Heat the iron up to its lowest temperature. Consider putting a sheet on top of the vinyl cloth to protect it from scorching. This will make it a bit more difficult to iron, but will decrease the chances of burning it.

    4

Dry iron the table cloth. Use small, quick circles to iron it out. Be sure to move the iron constantly to avoid scorching a section.

    5

Store the tablecloth flat or rolled, rather than folded. You can leave it on the table, or roll it up in a poster tube.
