How to Get Wrinkles Out of a Vinyl Table Cloth

How to Get Wrinkles Out of a Vinyl Table Cloth

Vinyl table cloths, just like those made of cloth, are prone to wrinkling. Whether you've just removed a new vinyl table cloth from its packaging or took a folded cloth out of storage to use, it will have creases. If it wasn't folded properly, it may also be wrinkled. But creases and wrinkles are not permanent, and you have a couple of options to restore a smooth finish to your vinyl table covering. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Method 1

    1

Find a sunny, hot area outside where you will have enough room to spread out the table cloth. Choose a location that will receive direct sunlight for most of the day.

    2

Spread the tablecloth flat and leave it to absorb the heat of the sun for at least 6 hours or until dusk.

    3

Retrieve the table cloth and check it for wrinkles. The wrinkles should be gone. If not, proceed to Method 2.

Method 2

    4

Put two bath-sized towels into the washing machine on the "Rinse" cycle and allow them to be rinsed and spun before removing.

    5

Place the wrinkled vinyl table cloth into your clothes dryer with the two damp, bath-sized towels.

    6

Turn the dryer on a low heat setting for 3 to 5 minutes. Promptly remove the table cloth from the dryer. Smooth any remaining wrinkles out with your hands.

    7

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 if some wrinkles remain. Finish drying the bath towels on the heat setting recommended on their care label once you have finished removing the wrinkles from the vinyl table cloth.
