Instructions for How to Build a Poker Table

Poker tables can now be seen as a common fixture in households all over the world. With the explosion in popularity of Texas hold 'em poker, the industry is at its all-time high. Poker tables have no set guidelines as to shape and size. Opinions will vary on the functionality of a round poker table over an oval or octagonal one.

Instructions

    1

Using the 4-inch hole saw, cut the number of holes you wish to have for the number of players at your table, three inches in from the edge. Space the holes at an equal distance from each other.

    2

Wipe the table surface clean. Make sure there are no imperfections that can be seen through the felt top you will be attaching.

    3

Spray a thin layer of fabric glue covering the entire surface of the table top. Spray the back of the fabric pad with glue as well.

    4

Stretch the fabric pad, glue side down, tight across the table top. Secure the pad on the bottom side of the table edge with staples. Repeat stretching and stapling all along the bottom of the table edge until the pad is tight.

    5

Cut an X in the fabric pad over each hole you drilled in the table top with your utility knife to allow access through the pad to each hole. The cut should span the entire width of the hole. Leave the excess fabric pad as this will help secure the cup holders.

    6

Staple one end of the felt to the bottom edge of the table. Stretch tight across the table top. It is important that you stretch the felt tight to avoid any wrinkling in the felt in the future. Repeat stretching and stapling along the bottom table edge until the felt is tight and secure.

    7

Cut an X in the felt spanning the entire width of each hole in the table top with your utility knife. Leave the excess felt.

    8

Insert pencil holders or plastic cup holders into each hole you have drilled in the table top. Don't secure them; you'll want to remove them for cleaning.
