How to Build a Pattern Cutting Table

How to Build a Pattern Cutting Table

For people with hobbies that require pattern cutting, building their own cutting table is a project that doesnt require a lot of skill, especially when a standard banquet table can be converted into a pattern cutting table without the use of many tools. A pattern cutting table built out of a banquet table can be especially helpful when you need to cut out patterns that require large amounts of fabric.

Instructions

    1

Set up a standard banquet table where you want your pattern cutting table to be.

    2

Throw a plain vinyl tablecloth over the banquet table and attach the tablecloth to the table using a staple gun. The staples should be driven up from the bottom of the table into the tablecloth. Make sure the tablecloth is smooth and doesn't have any ripples or bumps.

    3

Attach a standard wooden yardstick to the front edge of the table at the center of the table by drilling two -inch screws into the center of the yardstick. Each screw should be about 1 foot away from either end of the yardstick and from each other.

    4

Place a plastic desk organizer on the far right-hand corner of the table and insert all of your cutting tools, such as scissors, measuring tapes, and the like, into the organizer.
