How to Clean Dining Chair Pads

Chair pads are perfect for dining areas, as they provide cushioning so diners won't be stuck on a hard chair throughout dinner and dessert. This creates a more comfortable, inviting environment that allows people to enjoy each other's company without looking to move to a different sitting area. Since the pads are in dining areas and constantly in contact with food and drinks, sometimes spills can occur, or food particles can work their way into the chair pads, requiring a cleaning from time to time. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Vacuum the dining chair pads to collect crumbs and other food droppings. Use a hose attachment to easily get into crevices of the chair pads.

    2

Pour 1/4 cup of liquid dish detergent into a dish, mixed with 1 cup of water.

    3

Blend with a hand mixer until a thick foam has formed. It is important to clean the chair pads with the foam, as it eliminates introduction of excess water, which can mildew chair padding.

    4

Dip a cloth into the foam, then scrub over the chairs. Collect foam on the cloth as needed, until the chair pads have been cleaned to your liking.

    5

Wipe over the cushions once more with a damp cloth, which will collect loosened dirt as well as any excess dish detergent.
