Baby changing pads can be expensive and options for design are limited. Making a baby changing pad at home saves money and opens up the door to color and pattern options. Homemade changing pads also make a good gift for new parents. Changing pads are often used for on the go baby changes when on the road or when changing on the floor or bed at home. Changing pads need to be water resistant and also safe for baby's skin.
Instructions

Cut two rectangles each in the vinyl cloth, the prequilted flannel and the cotton fabric. Each rectangle should be about 25 inches tall and 10 inches wide.
2Put the cotton right side up. Put the flannel on top of the cotton. Put the vinyl on top of the cotton. Line all three up.
3Pin all around three edges to hold all three layers together. Leave a shorter end unpinned. Stitch around all three pinned sides with a 1/2-inch hem allowance.
4Pull the changing pad right side out. Pin 1/2 inch down on all four ends. Stitch a hem on all four sides.
5Place the ribbon lengthwise down the changing pad. Pin the ribbon in place and hand sew onto the pad just on one short end. Roll up the changing pad and tie the ribbon.
