How to Protect Wood Floors With Felt Pads

How to Protect Wood Floors With Felt Pads

Moving chairs back and forth on wood floors may leave scratch marks in the surface. The ends of chair and table legs often have no cushion and dig into the wood's finish. The furniture legs require a padding to keep them from touching and scraping the wood. By placing felt pads on the bottom of furniture legs, you can protect the wood floor from unsightly blemishes. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Lay chairs or tables on their sides to gain access to the bottom of furniture legs. Wipe the bottom of the furniture legs with a rag to remove dirt.

    2

Remove the adhesive backing from the felt pads. If the felt padding comes in a sheet, cut the pad with scissors to fit the entire bottom of the table or chair leg.

    3

Press the sticky area of the felt pad onto the bottom of the furniture leg. Hold the padding in place for five seconds to ensure that it bonds firmly to the furniture. Repeat the process on all furniture legs.
