How to Make Note Pads

How to Make Note Pads

A note pad is a tremendously useful item to have around the house, whether for grocery lists, to-do-lists or jotting down phone numbers or appointments to remember. Often, note pads are given away for free as promotional items, but you may want to customize your own note pad to reflect your interests or taste, or create a personalized note pad as a gift. Fortunately, you can create your own professional-quality notepad in just a few minutes.

Instructions

    1

Carefully arrange your stack of 20 pages so that the pages are evenly aligned. Blow air between the pages to separate them, and tap them against the table until they are straight.

    2

Cut the stack of pages into quarters using a paper cutter. Decorate the top of each quarter page with a rubber stamp and ink.

    3

Cut a piece of chipboard to match the quarter-page size.

    4

Align the quarter pages on top of each other by blowing air through the pages and tapping them against the table. Place the chipboard backing behind the stack.

    5

Insert the paper and chipboard stack into a pad vise, and place the bolts as close to the edge of the pad as you can.

    6

Hold the vise and the pad together, and tap the entire assembly against the table to align the edge of the pad with the edge of the vise. Tighten the vise.

    7

Apply a coat of padding cement to the edge of the pad. Wipe any excess cement off of the vise. Allow the cement to dry for one hour, and apply a second coat. Wipe off any stray cement from the vise, and allow to dry for an additional hour.

    8

Loosen the vise and remove your pad.
