For people with hobbies that require pattern cutting, building their own cutting table is a project that doesnt require a lot of skill, especially when a standard banquet table can be converted into a pattern cutting table without the use of many tools. A pattern cutting table built out of a banquet table can be especially helpful when you need to cut out patterns that require large amounts of fabric.
Instructions
- 1
Set up a standard banquet table where you want your pattern cutting table to be.
2Throw a plain vinyl tablecloth over the banquet table and attach the tablecloth to the table using a staple gun. The staples should be driven up from the bottom of the table into the tablecloth. Make sure the tablecloth is smooth and doesn't have any ripples or bumps.
3Attach a standard wooden yardstick to the front edge of the table at the center of the table by drilling two -inch screws into the center of the yardstick. Each screw should be about 1 foot away from either end of the yardstick and from each other.
4Place a plastic desk organizer on the far right-hand corner of the table and insert all of your cutting tools, such as scissors, measuring tapes, and the like, into the organizer.
