How to Make a Glasstop Coffee Table

The right glass coffee table can really add style to your living room, but sometimes no matter how many stores you browse, what you find is not the right width and length for your sofa or just not what you had in mind. If you're not an experienced carpenter, building your own can seem time like a big project. The truth is, anyone can create a uniquely fashionable glass coffee table using an inexpensive sheet of acrylic, stone blocks and just a few supplies from the local hardware center. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Using a firm brush, scrub the cinder blocks with a strong detergent. The longer you let them dry, the better.

    2

Use a nap roller to paint each cinder block side the color or different colors of your choice. When the paint has dried, position your cinder blocks in the floor space where you want your coffee table. You can stack them in the center or put them in opposite corners proportional to the size of the acrylic table top.

    3

Try putting the cinder blocks in different patterns to be sure what you like best. Once you decide, put felt dots between your acrylic table top and each cinder block to ensure that the glass stays in place. Now carefully rest your table top on the cinder block base.
