Air hockey paddles have felt pads attached to the bottom of them. This protects the table from damage. It also helps the paddles move smoothly over the table surface. Over time, these pads can tear, come loose or fall off. Using your own glue can be done, but it is recommended to replace the pad with a new pad. Most pads come with adhesive already on them to glue them onto paddles.
Instructions
- 1
Measure the diameter of the bottom of the air hockey paddle. Select and purchase a felt pad that matches the diameter.
2Peel off the old damaged pad from the paddle. Wet the rag with warm water or gentle cleaning solution, and clean off leftover glue adhesive. Dry the bottom surface of the paddle.
3Peel the backing off the new pad to expose the adhesive. Center the new pad, sticky-side facing the bottom of the paddle.
4Affix the pad to the paddle bottom and use your hand to smooth it over in place. Press firmly for a few minutes to set the adhesive.
5Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for any other paddle pads that need replacing.
